‘Bali-nd spot’ is a zentangle piece using micropens and ink which works on the idea of gamification to create spotting of different images in order to encourage problem solving and catalyse curiosities of relations between the objects, figurations, and textures that create a holistic landscape. In the right-side work 20 separate images are provided as cues for the viewers to spot these images in a dreamscape – a scenic realm that is a representation of my inner world in many of my artworks.
This work was created as an ode to my father, mirroring countless Sunday mornings spent playing ‘spot the what’ games and the activities featured are all ones we enjoyed on our annual adventurous dad-daughter trip (this time to Bali).
